Viva Las Vegas - Day Two
So I made the mistake of heading over to Schmitty's page and realizing that his Vegas vacation has so much more razzle dazzle than ours did - but then I noticed he has something major missing...
THE HOOVER DAM!

This is Michaela in the garage at the Hoover Dam. It was an amazing garage.

Carley in the above-mentioned garage.

The view from the garage.

Carley, Michaela and Matt standing in front of the view from the garage. We really dug the garage.

Inside the waiting area - before our tour.

Giant turbines creating electricity. Sadly, Matt discovered in the grocery store later that the town that built the Hoover Dam, Boulder City, NV, does not recieve any of the electricity generated from the dam.

There were all these wonderful details. These tile murals were in the floor and each were a Native American design that represented different types of energy - I think this one was sunshine.

The tunnel

The dam

Michaela surveying the site.

Looking down - eek!

Lots of these things everywhere

Looking like they are going to fall.

These statues are there.

You are supposed to rub the toes for good luck! I did.

Michaela continuing to view the man-made wonder

'Stop taking photos'

We can't stop

Nevada Time

Another look down

Arizona Time (50 feet away)

Wierdness in the gift shop

The workers were larger than life back then.
I would recommend a visit to the Hoover Dam for anyone who likes to respond to tour information with, "Oh my goodness" "Amazing" "Wonderful" "Wow" or just likes to stand next to a woman saying those things to every single word that came out of our tour guides mouth.
Now if there are any dam questions, I'll take 'em!
