Addie's Bachelorette Party

My best friend from childhood, Addie Rue, is getting MARRIED in July. I am a bridesmaid (first time ever). Carley and I took her out as a pre-Bachelorette shindig since we won't be around for the showers and stuff.

Holidays Wear Out

So I am sad that I have been so lazy about updating the blog. Very lazy. Things have been hectic in my life lately and so much more time is spent contemplating my meager existence as opposed to updating my blog.

I have had insomnia lately which I don't think I would wish on my worst enemy, but actually maybe I would since it sucks and I am vindictive.

I got some awesome gifts from my good friends this weekend for the holidays including a pass to the San Francisco International Film Festival (stoked), a copy of Lonesome Dove miniseries on DVD (love love love), a new purse and fantastic red and black stripey tank top (adore) and twister (already have, but still love and think is hilarious). I will post some photos from my dinner party this weekend tonight. The food and friends were all fantastic.

But back to the insomnia - what to do? Should I buy sleeping pills? That seems dangerous.

Harold Ray In Concert Rocks

This is a great band. You should check them out.

Harold Ray

This has been my favorite live San Francisco band since 2002. They are playing at the Hemlock on New Years Eve.

Sick...

I have been sick all week, hence to lack of posts.

Some things I am excited about:
1. Project Runway - Season 2 - Who is going to win? Last night they kicked off Kirsten because her clothing was tacky. They were right. But they also should have kicked off crazy crying guy - Andrae. (Project Runway)
2. Getting over this cold.
3. Not much else.

I will have some more posts maybe later tonight from home with pics from the cocktail party we went to on Saturday night.

Good times.

Jesus is Magic

Sarah Silverman's new stand-up feature falls just short of hilarity. Her humor is definitely not for everyone - you either love her or despise her. She makes some great jokes, it is just to bad that I read 60% of them in reviews before seeing the movie. I thought her songs were hilarious, but Jesse felt they were heavy handed. I would say that this is a must see, but on DVD/video.

Goodbye, Lenin!

This movie could have been fantastic if it weren't sooo long. It takes place in late 1989, early 1990 during the reunification of Germany. A boy's mother, an active socialist party member, enters a coma right before the wall comes down. She wakes up and the Doctor tells him to keep her life as stress free as possible. Realizing her devotion to socialism - he attempts to mislead her into the believing that not much has changed since she went into a comatose state. The acting was average, I didn't really like the lead character too much. I would say see other movies you really want to see first and save this for a day when you want to reminisce over East Germany.
