Always the bridesmaid...

Carley and I are bridesmaids in a wedding for our good friend, Addie, this summer. We got our XXL dresses in the mail yesterday and tried them on.

New Haircut

I got my hair cut for the first time in 9 months. I, of course, hate it. But it needed to happen. The stylist made me look like I had Jheri Curl in my hair after. It was so sticky and gross. That's what you get for $124!!!!!!!!!!

It is a little better now, but my bangs are tweaked. I could cover for the lead singer of Quiet Riot with this haircut if he ever got sick and couldn't go on stage.

Michaela's Birthday

We are going to Vegas for Matt and Michaela's birthday - but Michaela wanted to do something special on her birthday as well. So we went out to Puerto Allegro and also to the Hush Hush. I was too busy dancing at the Hush Hush to take photos -but here are some from dinner...

Death and taxes

Isn't that what life is all about. Well, have you ever wondered where your taxes go?

American Inventor

Do you ever think that you have a great idea that everyone could use? Well so does every other freak in the world. Unfortunately, night one of this highly anticipated program (hey my boyfriend is totally obsessed with this kind of crap) was not that great. The judges were all off their rockers - totally crazy and stupid. One woman cried at each contestant. The products all seemed like stuff that people already have. Or are for sale on QVC. The greatest moment of the evening was when this awful ex-boyband came in with their idea (not even a prototype) for a fruit pit bowl. Gross. When they were approved to move on to the next level the lead singer/dude said, 'Yay, we can be famous again.' hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. My favorite invention was the sneaky pee coat.

Who is Bozo Texino?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to just hop a train and ride all over the country? Well, after seeing this movie I doubt I will ever have that feeling again. First of all, most of the box cars are metal now and the old-hobos will tell you that they are not great to ride in. Secondly, I don't think I could pull myself on to one very easily. Thirdly, since 9/11 there has been a large crackdown on allowing people to ride the rails - while engineers used to be more sympathetic, now they are likely to lose their jobs if they know someone is on a train and don't report it or pull them off.

All in all, 'Who is Bozo Texino?' was an entertaining film. The dialogue was entirely of hobos discussing the lifestyle and the graffiti that is prevelant among them. I would have liked a little more information about the symbols used to mark out good spots - but maybe this is no longer as common as it was during the depression. I would have also liked more history, but I am a nerd.

If this lifestyle appeals to you, remember riding the rails can be very dangerous.

The Hills Have Eyes

I have decided my newest favorite thing to do is going to opening night of a horror movie filled with teenagers. There is not a better group in the world to see a scary movie with. First, they yell and scream a lot. Second, you get to yell and scream alot without other people shushing you - isn't that what a scary movie is for. Third, I promise you that hilarious things will be said by members of the audience that will be quoted for no less than 4 days after the movie.

The movie was also a great horror film. Classic 'freak movie'. I got so into it I chanted to myself, 'Kill the freaks, kill the freaks, kill the freaks.' I am not normally that kind of person. When I told a friend about it her response was that I was horrible and these people couldn't help that they were mutants. Um, it was a movie. Kill the freaks!

Inside Deep Throat

If you love porn like I do... just kidding. But, if you love a great story then this is the one for you. The documentary covers all aspects of the controversry surrounding Deep Throat the movie. Great interviews with old porn industry people and the editing is hilarious.

Bow down....

So it has been a while since I updated, and here are some photos from last weekends shenanigans....

Michaela has some friends in town so we went to Mr. Bings and then to Bow Bow. I tried my hardest, but could not get drunk. And Bow Bow was filled with some yuppies. Other than that I had a great time...
